What is the Controversy surrounding Tandav? Is Apology enough for mocking Hindu Gods?

What is the controversy surrounding TANDAV? Who is Aparna Purohit?

In the name of creativity and freedom of expression it has become a fashion to mock Hindu Gods and culture. We have seen low profile comedians, activists and liberals mocking Hindus, Hindu Gods and culture. The latest being Tandav where again it has been alleged that the web-series has hurt the sentiments of Hindus.

The creator-director of Tandav Ali Abbas Zafar apologised for having unintentionally hurt the sentiments of a certain section of the audience, but not before police complaints had been made against him and his cast

In one of the scenes in the controversial web-series Tandav, it, Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub is seen playing Lord Shiva in a stage play. The dialogue says "Azaadi, what the...?" Can this scene be termed unintentional as claimed by the makers?

While mocking Lord Ram and Lord Shiva, the narrator on stage tells Lord Shiva that since Lord Ram's popularity is gaining he needs to do something to become popular. Lord Shiva asks whether he should change his DP on social media to gain some popularity.

There are other dialogues in the movie demeaning Dalits and the dialogues which can create rifts between casts and religions.

After the FIR was filed against Amazon India original content head Aparna Purohit, creator Ali Abbas Zafar, producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra, writer Gaurav Solanki and others at the Hazratganj police station of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, the Tandav team has tendered an Apology on Social Media.

Amazon India original content head Aparna Purohit's old tweets are being shared by Twitter users alleging her to be Modi hater and a leftists. Netizens are now relating Tandav's content to her ideology and alleging that this is done deliberately to mock Hindus

Here are some of her Tweets which are viral on SM
