Jama Masjid is one of the most famous Mosques in India. Emperor Shahjahan has built Jama Masjid between 1644 AD - 1658 AD. The construction work of Jama Masjid was supervised by Sadullah Khan who was the Prime Minister of Emperor ShahJahan.

The Jama Masjid in Delhi have three gateways. It has four towers and two minarets. Jama Masjid of Delhi was built on a red sandstone porch. The unique feature of Jama Masjid is that it is 30 ft from ground level. Area of Jama Masjid Delhi is about 1400 sq yds.

Distance of Jama Masjid from ISBT Kashmere gate Bus Stand is just a Km. Jama Masjid is located opposite to Lal Qila or Red Fort in Purani Delhi.


Distance of Jama Masjid is just 3 Kms from CP. Number of low floor AC and non AC DTC buses ply in this route. You can also hire an auto or Taxi to reach Jama Masjid.

Delhi Metro also connects Jama Masjid to all parts of Delhi. Nearest Metro Station from Jama Masjid and Red Fort is Chawri Bazaar. From Chawri Bazaar Metro station Jama Masjid is just a walking distance.
