Mcleodganj is located in Upper Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. The amazing panoramic view of the Dhauladhar Himalayan ranges on one side and mesmerizing Kangra Valley on the other will enchant your heart. Mcleodganj is also known as abode for His Highness the Dalai Lama who migrated to India in 1959. The Tibetan Government in exile has its headquarters in Dharamshala Mcleodganj.

Mcleodganj is located at an altitude of around 2000 meters above sea level. The lush green pines and Deodar trees along with other fauna and flora in and Mcleodganj are truly breathtaking. From Chandigarh then take Ropar Nangal Highway to reach Una via Anandpur Sahib. From Una take Kangra Highway via Jwalaji to reach Dharamshala. Distance of Dharamshala from Delhi is 500 Kms and it takes around 10 hours to reach there.

You can also go by bus and hire a taxi for site seeing after you reach Dharamshala. It is advisable that you not go by your own vehicle if you do not have driving experience in hills.

There are number of buses available from ISBT Kasmere gate to Mcleodganj Dharamshala. You will get Volvo buses, AC Deluxe, Semi Deluxe and Ordinary buses to Dharamshala from ISBT according to your choice. During the summer season please book your seats in advance. HRTC offers online bus booking facility to Mcleodganj Dharamshala at its website www.hrtc.gov.in You can book online tickets to all the major destinations of Himachal Pradesh now.

Other option to reach Dharamshala Mcleodganj is by train. Book your seat till Pathankot or Chakki Bank in any train that is heading towards Jammu.  From Pathankot to Dharamshala you can get direct buses or share taxis. Toy trains from Pathankot to Kangra are also available. You can take a train till Kangra and from there Dharamshala is around 20 Kms.

Direct flights to Dharamshala are available daily from New Delhi Airport. Gaggal Airport is 10 Kms from Dharamshala.
