The vehicle owners now have to have a mandatory
Fastag starting December 1. Not only you need to have a FASTag you also need to
have it activated before you enter a FASTag Lane in all Toll Plazas.
If you enter a FASTag-enabled lane without
getting a FASTag active, you will be charged double the amount of toll fee and
will have to pay by cash.
WHAT IS A FASTAG
FASTag is a pre-paid
tag facility where your vehicle will be provided with a sticker. The main
objective of the FASTAG is that it will allow non-stop movement of traffic
without having to wait at the toll plazas. FASTag uses Radio-Frequency
Identification or RFID technology and enables automatic deduction of the toll
fee. Once the FASTAG is active, it is affixed on the vehicle's windscreen
and information on it is passively read by the antennae at the toll plaza,
debiting the toll amount from one's bank account that is linked to the FASTag.
Once you get a FASTag account activated and
recharge it then you don’t have to waste time at toll plazas for paying your
toll tax. You can just enter the dedicated FASTag lane on a toll plaza and the
balance will be automatically deducted from your FASTag account/bank account with
which your account is linked and you will receive an SMS alert on your
registered mobile number.
From Where to Buy a FASTag
You have many options from where you can buy a Fastag for
your vehicles. You can buy it online from SBI, HDFC, ICICI, AXIS and some other
banks. You can also buy your Fastag from PAYTM
