Shooting of Adipurush Movie starring Prabhas and Saif Ali khan begins - What is the Controversy

Adipurush - First Indian film to be made on a whopping budget of Rs 400 crore

Prabhas has teamed up with Om Raut to make a 3D film titled Adipurush. The poster of the movie was released last year in 2020. When it was announced that the Saif Ali will be playing Ravan in this movie, he had made a controversial statement praising Ravana and said that abduction of Seeta was justified.. Later he had retracted from his statement and apologised. 

Saif Ali Khan, in December 2020 interview had said that the film will show the ‘humane’ side of Raavan. He said, "It’s interesting to play a demon king, less strictures in that. But we will make him humane, up the entertainment quotient, justify his abduction of Sita and the war with Ram as revenge for what was done to his sister Surpanakha by Lakshman, who cut off her nose."

Prabhas is playing Lord Rama in Adipurush. It is believed that this movie will be made with a whopping budget of around 400 crores. The money is expected to be spent on latest technology and VFX. The makers will use the Green Mat Technology which is widely used in Hollywood movies. Reportedly VFX Supervisors of top movies like Avatar and Star wars have been signed by the makers of Adipurush 

Release Date - Adipurush is expected to hit the screens on August 2022. The film will be released in Hindi Tamil Telugu Malayalam and Kannada
