What did Rahul say to the Muslim delegates
According to Inquilab Urdu Newspaper when Rahul met a
delegation of Muslim Scholars he made a statement that Yes Congress is a Muslim
Party. However many news portals have their own interpretation of this
statement
According to AltNews, this is what the
newspaper reported Gandhi as having said: “If BJP says that Congress is a party
of Muslims, it is fine. Congress is a party of Muslims, because Muslims are
weak and Congress always stands with the weak.”
The BJP got ammunition to
target Rahul and Congress party and have come under attack. The BJP is saying
that yes this proves that congress is an anti Hindu party.

Prime Minister Modi referring to this statement targeted
Rahul Gandhi in his West Bengal Rally
“I have read in newspapers
that Congress naamdar has said that the Congress is a party of Muslims,” Modi
said. “This debate has been on for the last two days. I am not surprised
because during the Manmohan Singh government, the prime minister himself that
said that Muslims have the first claim on the country’s resources…”
Shahid Siddiqui was the
first to tweet this report from Inquilab Urdu Newspaper
Urdu daily Inqalab has quoted Rahul Gandhi saying “Yes
Congress is a Muslim party”. Is the quote correct or party will contradict it?
Muslims don’t want a Muslim party, they want a National Secular party, which
doesn’t discriminate between citizens. @RahulGandhi
@INCIndia
The Inquilab journalist
Mumtaz Alam Rizvi, who had first published the story based on the sources, came
up with another story next day with an interview of the person who actually
attended that meeting verifying his claim
The general feeling among the masses is why Rahul Gandhi
and Congress is hell bent on appeasing Muslims? By doing so aren’t they getting
themselves distanced from the majority community? There is no rocket science
required or you need Political Pundits to explain that Muslims in UP and other
states are not going to vote Congress. In UP the Muslim vote is mostly divided
among SP and BSP.
In West Bengal it is Mamata Bannerjee who commands Muslim
votes. In south Congress has no presence except for Karnataka. In Karnataka
also the base is not that strong that it can sweep the entire seats by
appeasing. HD devegauda’s party will come in between now.
By appeasing Muslims is Congress eying the next assembly
elections in Rajasthan, MP and Chattisgarh? But the equation is not like UP in
these states and the appeasement is not going to help. Then what do Congress
do?
The think Tank of Congress should now understand that
their recent tactics have fallen flat and they should now come up with some
ideas that strike the chord of the general public.
The Public is already annoyed with anti Modi rhetoric of
the opposition and now want solutions to the problems which they are
highlighting. That is the big flaw in the opposition’s strategy against the
government. You highlight the issues but give solutions as well is the need of
the hour
Mayawati’s partymen have already declared her as the next
PM candidate. Akhilesh Yadav is not willing to give more than 2 seats to
congress in UP. For Mamata Rahul Gandhi doesn’t exist and can never be her
choice as PM candidate. Sharad Pawar has already shown his inhibitions to
accept Rahul as PM. South leaders like KCR and CBN have not opened their cards
yet. So what are the options for Congress now?
How can they prove to the
Mahagathwandhan if it happens that they are the ones who can form the
government under leadership of Rahul Gandhi
The Mahagathwandhan if happens then the only criteria
will be the party with maximum seats will get the PM
Leaders of all the parties shaking hands and sharing the
stage to announce their unity is very easy but when it actually comes to
forming the Ganthwandhan it will be a hell lot of task for the parties
If we take example of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav,
Mayawati are the two main opposition forces who can fight Modi, congress is
distant 4th and will struggle even at Amethi and Rai Bareli. In such
a situation Congress will not get enough seats. Mayawati and Akhilesh if really
want to become PM have to get maximum seats from UP. Both have to share the
maximum number of seats in UP
Mayawati has already hinted that if congress want seat
shares in UP, then they have to share their seats in congress dominated states
like Punjab, Karnataka or where congress has a good base in states like
Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chatisgarh etc.
The congress is at loss in both the arrangements. By
removing Digvijay Singh from the CWC congress will again face a wrath of the
supporters of Digvijay who still has a good mass base in MP.
