Chinmayananda gets huge relief in sexual abuse case, Law student turned back on charges
Shahjahanpur
woman, a law student, who had filed a sexual abuse case against BJP leader and former
Union Minister Chinmayananda aka Krishnapal Singh, turned hostile in the court
during her testimony.
The
angry prosecution further moved an application under section 340 of the crpc,
demanding action against her.
The case will now be heard on 15 October.
Who is the woman who accused
swami Chinmayanand of rape?
She is a resident of Shahjahanpur UP and is a law student studying in (Shahjanpur Law College) an institute owned by Swami Chinmayanand's trust. Last year, she accused the former minister of rape. However when the SIT started investigating the case, the woman did not cooperate.
She refused to hand over her phone and was also arrested by Special
Investigative Team (SIT). The team found a video where she was discussing an
extortion plot against Chinmayanand with three of her friends. According to SIT
she was arrested after she admitted that she is present in that video.
The
woman’s phone could not be found but the driver who shot the video of the
alleged extortion plot was the key witness.
The law student and her three friends who were present in the video conversation were booked on charges of extortion, criminal intimidation, disappearance of evidence, a criminal act done with a criminal knowledge or intention and Section 67 of Information Technology Act.
